Punkerslut to Act! for America...

Greetings,

So, for only $70, I can help "fight terrorism" by ordering an autographed book? In two weeks, those Muslims are going to be pulling their hairs out of their heads. Why? Because they'll see me sitting in a petroleum-based lawn chair, watching oil reserves build up on the beach, and reading books with complicated messages about international politics.

For example: "Because They Hate: A Survivor of Islamic Terror Warns America." Perhaps you haven't been reading lately, but the cables released by the United States government recently show that it is actually the United States that is the biggest source of Terrorism around the world. Sabotaging the UN, hiring mercenaries to blow up villages, even Israel has admitted that Wikileaks has videotapes of them ripping children apart with tanks and missiles.

Who cares about terrorism, though? Who cares that more than twenty people were machine gunned by state forces in Oaxaca in 2006? Who cares that more than two hundred men, women, and children were burned alive and shot to death by US troops in Waco? Oh, and by the way, who even cares that every single one of these events has been fully shot by photographers and videographers, with most of the gruesome details fully available at youtube right now. You don't seem to care.

Here's your message: "Terrorism bad! Buy book! Terrorism bad! Buy book!" I'm sure those members of Al-Qaeda are shaking in their boots right now... oh, you do know that the terrorists of Al-Qaeda were trained in weapons of mass destruction by the US Secret Service, and that they were formally created, named, and designed by the CIA? I didn't read that in some "revolutionary rag;" it's the documentary, "The Power of Nightmares" by the BBC.

So, I can buy a book, and I can sign a petition. Sounds like a really powerful and active organization you have there. "They Must Be Stopped" -- how long did it take you to come up with the name for that book?

The "about" section is awfully curious: "came to the United States after losing her country of birth to militant Muslim fundamentalists during the Lebanese Civil War." Muslims fundamentalists? That's interesting. Some were Muslims, even by definition that they were "Fundamentalist Muslims," though that did not directly relate to the issue fighting -- as Muslims were not fighting non-believers, but each other, and not necessarily for religious purposes. There were Lebanese factions, the PLO, Arafat's clique, Fatah, Hezbollah, and many, tiny splinter groups. Oh, there were also Christian militias, such as the Nourmour and the South Lebanon Army. There was even the Soviet-Union-funded Progressive-Socialist-Party that organized its own militias too.

In short, the Lebanese Civil War was not a religious war, but a political war with religious influences -- like most wars. But you're saying it happened because the participants were Muslims. Many of them were, but not all, as many were secular or Christian. Even then, it seems very unfair and intolerant to simply point out their religion as their main distinguishing feature, when it had nothing to do with the reasons for killing. It's like saying "I had to leave living in New York City, because of the crime caused by black people." True, New York has crime, and a black population, but this statement goes further than stating this, and asserts that the crime was caused because the people were black. Likewise, you're committing the same basic fallacy when you do the same toward Muslims in a very political civil war.

"...the democratic values of Western Civilization, such as the celebration of life and liberty, as opposed to the authoritarian values of radical Islam, such as the celebration of death, terror and tyranny." Really? They celebrate that? Actually, I think what you mean to put in place of "radical Islam" is "the governments of all the world, such as the one that I am defending." Did radical Islam build concentration camps to imprison millions into forced labor and death? No, I believe that accomplishment is held by.... Western Civilization.

Your organization "...promotes and implements educational programs that teach and enable citizen participation in the defense of America on the community, city, state, and national level." From radical Islam? What if there are more deaths from police brutality compared to radical Islam in the United States? And what if that ratio is more than one hundred to one? Would you suddenly change your mind and say, "We need to teach our children how to protect themselves from radical policing." You probably wouldn't be able to sell as many books, you know, for the "suggested donation of $70."

Sincerely,
Andy Carloff
